Frequently Asked Questions:
DO you handle announcements, introductions, and mc responsibilities?
A: Yes. All of our DJ packages include the necessary procedural announcements. Introductions, directions for guests, information about meal service, etc., are all included at no extra charge. We do recommend, however, that you appoint a Master and/or Mistress of Ceremonies to act as a point-of-contact for us throughout the day. That way, someone you know and trust can serve as an intermediary, so that we don’t have to bug you too much with questions that pop up throughout the event.
can you provide a microphone and music/speaker for the ceremony?
Yes. All of our packages are "Complete" meaning that they include microphone, DJ/MC service, sound system, light system, etc. However, packages are based on time, so if your ceremony falls within the contracted hours of service, it's included at no extra charge!
Can we schedule a meeting with you?
A: Yes! We guarantee at least one phone consultation for each client before the event. With the majority of our planning being done via email and the “Electronic Detail Form”, we generally reach out approximately 2 to 4 weeks prior to your date to touch base and talk through any possible updates and the final details for your event.
Do we need to pay a deposit, and when are payments due?
A: Security deposit (usually $99 for DJ service) is due upon booking, and will confirm your date on our calendar. Final balances are due 2 weeks before the event date, unless otherwise discussed or arranged with us in advance. We do offer payment plans and numerous payment options, so please contact us if you have any questions!
Do you travel?
Yes! We work throughout the state of Michigan (and sometimes even beyond)! We don't have a set travel rate, but any location outside of the metro Grand Rapids area we generally ask for a travel fee of $50.00 per hour/$25.00 per half-hour for travel that is over 30 minutes from Grand Rapids. For example, generally there is no additional fee for the general area(s) of, Grand Haven to the west, Ionia to the East, Newaygo to the North, and Wayland to the South. We also ask for a hotel fee for weddings and events that are beyond approximately 2 hours of travel one-way and 1 hour of travel one-way during the winter season. We are very reasonable about these costs, however, and we can work it out with you. We only ask for the the actual room cost that it charged to us through an app, such as Expedia, if/when a hotel stay is warranted; we do not add any additional fees.
How do you handle requests and playlists?
Upon booking, we'll send you our "Event Detail Form", which guides you through the planning process, and covers everything from: "Must Play" songs, and "Do Not Play" songs, lighting color preferences, level of DJ involvement on the microphone, favorite artists, and more. At the event, bride and groom requests are always played immediately - as for guest requests, we'll play them as much as possible, based on your preferences and what we think is appropriate for the audience. We want you to have as much or as little control as you're comfortable with, and we'll help you coordinate all of the details, to make sure that you know exactly what to expect.
